Philosophy and Teaching
For over a quarter of the century, the Twin Acorn clinic has been the premier healing establishment in Kaldor and is the only branch of the Society of Physicians that is still active in Tashal. The clinic prides itself not only on its services to people of Kaldor, but also its devotion in finding, maintaining and teaching the knowledge of healing.
Passed on from master to master, the teaching of the Twin Acorn clinic is based more on science and fact than "leeches and evil spirits". The philosophy of the clinic emphasizes on logic, heuristic reasoning and discovery by historical patterns. The findings are exhaustively catalogued, studied, experimented and applied into practices. Apprentices are encouraged not just to learn, but also to explore by their own initiatives.
Service to the people is ultimately the priority of the Twin Acorn clinic. The healers of the clinic work tirelessly to ensure those who need help are tended to. They provide cares and services for all the inhabitants of the city and nearby regions, and regularly travel out to distant parts of the kingdom to assist in those places lacking sufficient medical care.
The Twin Acorn clinic has close ties with the temples of Peoni and Save K'norr. The healers of the clinic devote significant time at the hospice, providing training to the acolytes and assisting in advance cases of illness and injuries. Knowledge they gained is shared and reviewed with the researchers of Save K'norr. The temple's library has a wealth of historical records that is invaluable to the advancement of the knowledge of healing.
