Suggested structure of Sarajinian Wedding - - - The Initial prayer --------------------------- Priest says the initial prayer, calling Sarajin to be present. The Presentation Priest presents the candidates to each other and the folks witnessing the ceremony. He asks the man to state his full name. *the man states his full name to request the presence of ancestors, ie. Like Mundri, son of Sigmar, grandson of StureŠ *the woman stetes her full name the same way as the man did. Prayer for ancestors --------------------------- Priest speaks first then the couple will pray for their ancestry for approval. The Oath --------------------------- Priest asks for the husband to draw his blade, and say the oath. *the man offers his blade to his wife with the promise (by Sarajin) to protect her and provide her with all she needs to be a good wife and to uphold her honour, and as such keep up his loyalty towards her. This he swears to her and her clan. *the woman accepts the blade and swears by Sarajin that she'll uphold her husband's honour by being a good wife and mother to his children. She also swears loyalty to her husband and his clan The Blessing --------------------------- The priest blesses the couple. The Sealing of Marriage --------------------------- Priest offers a flagon of mead for the couple to drink from. * First the husband drinks from the flagon, then the wife. Flagon is handed back to the priest. A prayer for Elkyri Freana --------------------------- Priest prays for Freana in behalf of the married couple. Everyone present can add their own prayers and well wishes in the end. The ceremony at the Temple is then over, and the feast may begin at the longhouse. If rings or such tokens are used, they can be exchanged at feast table, for all to see. Sometime during the evening the husband should carry his wife to his house/room and consumate the marrage.
