Save K'nor

"Sage of the Gods, Lord of Puzzles, Conundrums, and Mazes, Lord of Jesters, Mixer of Potions, Knower of Many Things, Keeper of the Var-Hyvrak, The Lost Guide."

Dear Sisters and Brothers:
We have a great task set before us. We have taken it upon us, to be a pillar of society, and promote stability and order in the world. This is in many ways a cruel and violent world, to a large extent ruled by barbarians who will promote savagery and chaos if they think it will give them more wealth and power. They might wear silk and hermin - but they are still barbarians.

Among more benevolent rulers there is often a lack of competence, and while they might have a good ambition, that is far from being sufficient. The dark, destructive forces must not be underestimated. They are constantly trying to bring chaos to the world, and we must do our utmost to stop them.

To achieve these things, we need to be skilled in our task. We must be careful, wise and cunning, and we must always be aware of our goals. We must also be very patient and enduring, for it will be a long struggle to achieve these goals, and whatever victory we win might be undone later, and must constantly be defended. This struggle will never cease.

The wisest of the Gods; Save-K'Nor is the god of knowledge, learning and esoteric lore. Most of his adherents tend to belong to the intellectual elite, and are learned scholars themselves. There are some notable exceptions; thespians, jesters, and social satirists are also attracted to the open minded atmosphere promoted by the church.

The church is small in number of worshippers, however, as one would expect, its members can be quite powerful, and the church's influence on worldly affairs can be subtle but strong.

Worship of Save-K'Nor is uncommon, but nearly universally permitted. However, the Church tends to thrive only in lawful regions, and shuns Kingdoms characterized by evil despotism and tyranny.

Clerical orders of Save-K'Nor
