"King of the Icy Wind, Lord of the Perilous Quest and Wielder of the Blooded Axe, Master of Frosty Climes, the Grey Slayer."

Am I a worthy man? I do not know. I have tried to live a life of a worthy man. I have done deeds people speak of, that have shown my courage. I have always stood by my given word, and acted with honor. But it is not enough to live worthy. A worthy life must be crowned by a worthy death. I can see how my own death will come about. I hope for one like my father's cousin, Tostein the Wolf.

Tostein, he who was tricked into captivity by the enemies of the clan, along with a son of his, at the time of the clan war. He was offered his own life and freedom if he only revealed where our force was hidden. He swore he would talk, but only if he was given an axe and a moment alone with his own son. The enemies locked father and son into a empty house, but rushed to open it after hearing the cry of death. In the opening of the door stood Tostein, with bloodied axe.

"Now there is only me who can tell, and I will let this axe speak for me", Tostein said, and charged out into the midst of the enemies. I have heard they speak of him even to this day, and we all know that his death earned him a place at the finest table in the feasting hall of Talagaad. Yes, I wish for a death like his. Then a raven will awaken me, and I will journey to Talagaad. Perhaps if I bring many along with me, He will favor me with letting Shalka come to meet me, letting me ride in his greatest of sleds up the gates of His icy halls. There all the heroes of our people will stand, cheering at me, having heard of my deeds in life and the peak of it at my death by his wives, the Elkyri, who will bring me an ivory horn of golden mead and show me to my place at the table, surely next to Tostein's, who will grin his wolfish smile at me when he sees me. Aye, so it will be.

Sarajin, the god of the Ivinian, or northmen, is the god of battlelust, requiring fearlessness and bravado of his adherents. Sarajin is a god of war and battle for the sheer sake and enjoyment of such sport. Sarajin is usually portrayed as a giant, yellow- haired, bearded warrior clad in furs in leather who travels across the snowy wastes in his sled, Shalka. He bears Fakang, his great double-bladed axe, which is able to split a mountain or cause storms or earthquakes.

Sarajin has little concern for righteous causes, but his adherents do have a code of honor known as "Ljarl." This code emphasizes bravery, truthfulness, and honor to one's clan and family.
