Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - Thanks for attending everyone. I will read off the post from the forum for those that may not have read it ..." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - Characters who wish to attend are summoned to a dark room where they can't see who is there. Characters with infravision are provided with blind folds." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - A staff member will list out the agenda items that will be discussed during the meeting." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - The staff will work down through the agenda items offering their take on the items." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - All the characters are sitting and they stand and wait if they want to comment on something that has been said. An Admin will send them a tell when it is their turn to speak. When a character is finished speaking they sit down." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - An admin will periodically let the speaker know how many people are waiting to speak behind them to prompt them to take a seat if they have voiced their point to their satisfaction. Players are welcome to stand up again after they sit if they want to comment on the same topic again." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - No emoting during the meeting. No talking unless it is your turn to speak. If we follow the above guidelines the meeting should move along with little chaos." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - I'll begin the meeting with a reading of the work done this previous week for the game by the staff." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - 50 applications have been reviewed by the staff and accepted since the last meeting." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - Hitched stayputs will no longer slinky back to the last place they were hitched on a crash or reboot." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - You can now count Exchange coins correctly again." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - Wear locations oddities was tackled and beaten into submission." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - Fixed oracular type rituals so they properly leave a note for the admin to review." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - Palming a weapon into your hand from a sheath will no longer destroy the current weapon if you already have a weapon wielded." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - Resolved the oddities with horses having stacked infravision affects which spammed up their stats for admins." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - Admins can again load items directly into objects with the load command." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - Lockpicking has had a timer per area put on it, which we will likely loosen over time with testing." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - Bandage of Saint Perelyne ritual will not only heal but will bind any bleeding injuries you have." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - Variable stayputs are now possible due to some changes to mobs. This will allow us to sell unique slaves, horses, pets, etc and not everyone will have "a grey cat"." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - Numerous typos, emails and petitions have been responded to as well throughout the month." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - So busy month. I'll start the meeting with the first agenda item." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - Agenda item One - What is on the Staff's to-do list?" Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - Someone was curious what the upcoming bugs or code implimentations might be. Honestly we are never sure what will be fixed or added until a coder takes up the gauntlet to address something. We have two full forums. One dedicated to bugs and one to possible code additions. Huge lists." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - And on top of that we have the player bug reports forum and player wish list." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - Millie has put together some to-do's that she has from an admin perspective." Someone says, out of character, "Millie - Crafts like orchard crafts, ritual crafts, adding smells to more crafts, crafts to make other crafts... I wish! But crafts are always an agenda item." Someone says, out of character, "Millie - PC's paying to to join NPC Caravans to go back and forth from Tashal to Trobridge, Trobridge to Coronan, Trobridge to Geldeheim, Tashal to Geldeheim, and Tashal to Thay. It will be a system where PC's stay at the midpoint for the duration of the journey, then a system to move to the desitnation at the proper time. The midpoint system ensures there is the possiblity of danger and interaction on the 'journey', as there should be." Someone says, out of character, "Millie - Library system for Knorrian temple and other halls of lore that may spring from the system." Someone says, out of character, "Millie - Scheduled admin run events, approximately 1 each month, mostly on the Feast Mass days of Dieties but some also like the Summer Tashal Caravan. We only have 1 right now, the Night of Shadows, which is understood by most to be admin attended and orchestrated, with occasial pc help, so we plan to do more of these once we get the structure and ic and ooc dates for them solidified better." Someone says, out of character, "Millie - Variable color mobs and more pc's owning npc's like slaves, pets, horses, work mules, etc. This is almost ready." Someone says, out of character, "Millie - is done." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - So .. quite alot to digest, any comments or questions?" Someone says, out of character, "So These special npc's will they be available in shops and such? And can Pc's eventualy play concepts like Falconers and Slavers? Just as examples." Someone says, out of character, "Millie - The first 'selling of npc's' type player will likely be ostlers. Most of this will be going towards providing npc's to players, not making new professions to sell the npc's, for though you can 'buy' an npc, there is no way to actually 'sell' one. So the functionalities main focus is on providing NPC's for players to buy." Someone says, out of character, "Oh ok....thanks for answering my question." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - The system works on an NPC object which is sold in a shop and when bought creates an NPC that is owned by the purchaser." Someone says, out of character, "Millie - So in other words, no that is not a focus or on the agenda for now except maybe for ostlers." Someone says, out of character, "All the things listed so far sounded very nice to have. I'm just curious whether there would be something from coding side - if they have any idea what to tackle next, so to say?" Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - As I mentioned before its always a bit nebulous what code is worked on next. We have a list that the coders can pick and choose from basically. I know Reb is currently looking at fixing variable mobs so they work when they are not stayputs." Someone says, out of character, "Guess we just see them when they're ready :) Thanks." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - That's what I do. :)." Someone says, out of character, "First of all, thank-you for all your hard work. My question is back to the NPC selling. Will this also be available to farmers who have the ability to breed a number of animals including dogs?" Someone says, out of character, "Millie - I was pondering it for dogs and only dogs as far as ranching is concerned, for the objects are already there, as you k now. The reason being, many people buy the other animals for the sake of breeding, and making them all into NPC's on purchase would mean breeding stock could not be bought for common farm animals. But dogs are one where that is not so bad if they cannot be bought for breeding, and mostly bought for the animal they are, so yes that is along with horses on the breed as objects to sell as mobs, actually." Someone says, out of character, "Millie - A dog breeder/seller would need a shop room to sell from and so, how this would work out is unclear. Possibly ostlers would buy the dog objects to resell as dogs, to players, that is an idea I had." Someone says, out of character, "There is some demand for rabbits as pets. But its' small. Thanks :)." Someone says, out of character, "Millie - rabbit objects work pretty well as pets as objects but I might consider that as an npc buying type too." Someone says, out of character, "One thing comes to mind when I here some of the things... I was wondering if there even have been any plans to swap code with the two other Diku-based RPI muds? They have some of this implemented, but are missing things we have here." Someone says, out of character, "Since most mud admins/coders suffer from a heavy workload, it seems like unnecessary work to re-invent the wheel, so to speak? I know that it won't be possible in most cases, but it was just an idea I had." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - Good question. If code 'additions' were so easy to trade and get I would definitely be all for this, but unfortunately it is not so simple. It is not one snippet here or there but usually a number of lines of code all through out the code files that need changed. So you'd need a list of what to change where and hope you have not already altered those files away from that coders view of things." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - It would be a tedious process to write up a code addition for others to have and so I would not volunteer for the task, nor request it of another." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - Very good question though, as I said and I would never refuse code, but I'd feel guilty knowing I would not go through the same effort to offer something I have changed." Someone says, out of character, "Um quick question on the same thread, I was wondering if missile weapons would ever be implemented in this game? And if that is something that is thought about, is there going to be a sort of time table for it?" Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - This came up in the last meeting. You can download the last meeting from the website. Quite alot of talk on that." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - In short, yes, it is being thought of, but not alot being done just yet." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - Agenda item Two - A Discussion of the Value of Money in Harn. The player who brought this up is not here ... but if anyone has any comments please feel free." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - Sooo ... next agenda item then." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - Agenda item Three - Virtual Conflict Off-Stage In Harn." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - This came up at the last meeting. I don't really have much more to add on this angle, but if anybody has some questions or comments, shoot." Someone says, out of character, "Just a quick comment - I would be a big supporter of such, hearing about things happening in other parts of Harn. Might just take too much admin time?" Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - Me too, but yes, time intensive and the need to keep track of it all. No admin has really stepped up for 'rumor monger' position yet." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - Agenda item Four - Greater Use of Logs by Staff to Eliminate Twinking and Meta-Gaming When PC Enforcers Aren't Around to Stop It." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - We are logging fools honestly. And we do send warnings to players when we feel they are pushing the envelope. We also try to change the code or world where we can to limit abuse." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - Agenda item Five - Rant as to what the Imms like and dislike of things they are seeing lately." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - Unfortunately Revus did not show up to the meeting, but if you have any concerns about things you feel the admins dislike feel free to ask and we will comment." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - I think like most players I dislike the player who logs in, types who and then logs off. Type who, wander around, do some things done your character needs to do. Give some time before logging off or the 'who' list will always be low. Same goes for petitions. If you are about to log off, don't petition. Nothing is more annoying than typing out a response to a petition and the player logs out." Someone says, out of character, "A comment to this... personally I would rather see people logging off than sitting as idle dummies. There is far to much of that in this game. In my opinion, if you aren't here to RP, stay away from the game until you have time to do it." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - Unresponsive idlers. Yes, that is annoying. If you are not going to be responding to other players then sit in a room where others won't walk in to try to talk to you." Someone says, out of character, "Millie - On to a like - I like seeing typo and bug reports coming up through the game. It makes really nice logs for us to go through and answer, and flags the room number and everything, so never feel it is bothering us to submit a typo report and thanks to all those who do submit them." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - On the positive side I like the players that send a separate email for each request they have, rather than grouping them. Groups of tasks are harder to tackle than a single task. Sometimes we have to mull over a task. Nice to have them separated." Someone says, out of character, "I'd like to pat you on the back for all the new crafts. May I sweetly ask that when you make a new craft, that the new items required to execute said craft be available for sale in all the main living areas of the game? :)." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - This is a player who has gone on the grueling quest for the wooden spoon, or something like it. I have been there. :) If you find a shop and figure a certain item should be made by its owner just petition up and let us know. Usually we will add it fairly quickly." Someone says, out of character, "Millie - Yeah that is a big thing, which is why some crafts do not use the 'perfect' items for that craft. I have had some help with crafts lately and it is not clear to a new crafter how hard it is to get a new needed item in the game, though education goes well. Also on that, the existance of a craft does not mean one necessarily should have all the items at all times needed for those crafts. Some crafts are built with a built in shortage of a particular needed item, alchemy crafts especially but there are others, so not all crafts are supposed to be doable at all times. Of course that said, reasonably commonly available items, as Blackhorde said, can be petitioned for. We can easily miss stocking an area or two when creating a new item." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - That was the last of our agenda items. If there are any questions we can answer those or if there are none we will adjourn the meeting." Someone says, out of character, "One last thing, I'd like to suggest an overhaul on the farming crafts, especially the grain ones. I'd like to see some hefty timers on them. It would take at least a game day to plant one row of wheat for example :)." Someone says, out of character, "Millie - I was thinking of putting timers on crafts but the unfortunate thing with that is that any craft with a timer affects all crafts with timers. So let us say we put a timer on a butchery craft and a farming craft, and you did the farming craft engaging a 1 day timer, you could not do the butchery craft. Of cousre, this affects only other crafts with timers, of which there are few, so if there is a general 'yes do this' from players involved, I am for it too." Someone says, out of character, "I understand the timer thing well. I'd still like to see it applied. If you are busy for a day planting, you wouldn't be able to butcher anyway. But whatever you decide :)." Someone says, out of character, "Millie - Great idea. Feel free to post about it on the crafting forum as a reminder to me and the other builders." Someone says, out of character, "Blackhorde - We have no more people standing so that would be the end of the meeting. Thank you all for attending. You can use the 'return' command to go back to play in the game world."
